I am an absolute beginner, I want to learn Hindi because my husband speaks it and I'd like for our son Deepak to grow up hearing it and to learn it as well. In a perfect world my husband would never have spoken a word of English to our son as I requested, but such is not the case.
I would like guidance in selecting appropriate materials to begin learning Hindi. I am interested in books, dvd's, and having a plan created for me to be successful in the learning process.

I want to learn to speak, read and write in Hindi because I am married to a Punajabi native and hence I want to be proficient in comprehending India's national language. This will allow me to take the next step which would be to learn to speak Punjabi fluently.
I want a native born Punjabi language teacher who is also proficient in Hindi for at least the next 6 months to tutor me for once a week on a Saturday morning for 2 hours.And to continue my learning into the early start of next year.
