I have never taken any portuguese, but am extremely motivated to learn. I plan on going on a volunteer trip in a year and a half to Salvador and I hope to have some basic knowledge of the language by them. After the 3 month long volunteer program in Salvador ends, I will hopefully be staying in Brazil for an additional 9 months. I want to take the lessons during this summer (june-july) and I think 3 times a week would be ideal, but i'm flexible. I am happy to do homework for the sessions (in fact, i expect it), and I would prefer if the teacher is a native Portuguese speaker to help with my accent.

I want to learn conversationa l portuguese. My husband is portuguese and most of his family is still in Portugal. We are planning a trip to Portugal in the Summer - July 2005 and would like to have a basic understanding of the language.
