I wish to learn Portugese with my small family a group of 4 myself and partner and 2 young girls. We are planning on requlary visiting Portugal with the aim to eventually move there. We have spent time in Algarve and fell in love with Prai de Luz which we plan to visit again at the end of October. Although we found most people in the Algarve speak English we understand this is no the case in the rest of Portugal. We are absolute beginners and are more interested in conversation rather than grammer and also written Portugese. I believe we need to dedicate a few hrs a week to learning another language can you please advise. I am looking for a patient teacher who is child friendly and flexible and who is prepared to teach from our home if possible.

Learning to improve conversationa l abilities as I spend 3 months a year in Portugal.
We would be interested in ideally a native Portuguese speaker, ideally from the south of Portugal in case of any regional differences.

I am married to a Brasileira but I have not mastered Brasilian Portuguese. I would classify myself as a beginner who is developing an ear for the language and is ready to learn to speak. I would find it easier to learn with a tutor and then to practice at home.
I would like at least a weekly one-on-one lesson in Portuguese, preferably downtown Chicago, which is where I work.
I will be vacationing again in Brasil in November this year and would like to have decent conversationa l skills by then.
