I am definately a beginner. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science-World Politics from UW-Eau Claire. I currently work in Milwaukee. I would like to go to grad school for Middle Eastern Studies. However, I feel that I should at least have a basic understanding of the language before I go to graduate school. I am looking to be tutored for about two hours a week in the evenings. My schedule changes alot, however, I will accomodate a regular schedule for tutoring. I would like an experienced teacher.

As salaam wa alaykum.
S abah al khyr.
I am trying to learn arabic at the moment and would like to start some formal lessons. I am able to read and write, but really need to improve my conversationa l and newspaper reading skills.
I travel alot with my job (sometimes to Egypt) so am unable to attend a formal arabic course. I would hope to have one or two lessons per month.

As of right now I am at a proficiency level of 5 (out of ten meaning fluency). My goal is fluency in reading, writing and speaking, with hopes to pursue a job in publishing translation/i nterpretation. I need a instructor that will challenge me, be able to set up meetings or activities for me to practice my skills, and test me periodically to insure that I am progressing at a steady rate.
