I am going into the field of the music business and want to enter the Chinese market. My mom is chinese and my father is scottish. I think being able to speak fluent Manderin from a business and heritage perspective is something very important to have. I also would love to be able to speak to my grandmother.
Unfortuna tely I have no experience in Manderin and only understood a little when I was younger.
I would like to dedicate this summer until University begins.
I would like a teacher that is very hands on and is able to use english and basic scenerios to help better my understanding .

I am learning Mandarin and French because I find languages so interesting and removed from what I study at school. I would classify myself as intermediate. I lived in Beijing for a year and studied Mandarin and I studied French for three years during my undergrad. I feel I am rusty in both languages though and require some immediate practice.
I would like to improve my conversation skills and learn more characters. In addition, I would like to start reading short texts in Mandarin and some more difficult texts in French. Suggestions would be more than welcome.
I can dedicate at least 3 hours a week to learning each language.
I would like my teacher to be focused and attentive.
Also, if it's of any consolation, I have teaching experience in English, Math, and Physics.

I will be traveling to China (Beijing and Shanghai) in three weeks time for an internship at a magazine. I am an absolute beginner! I would like to see you 3 times a week for the next 3 weeks (if possible). I essentially need a crash-course in Mandarin to prepare for the internship (basic vocabulary, phrases, character recgonization and writing).
