I am a beginner, however I do/did know Spanish (I am not sure if that helps or hinders).
I want to learn Italian for personal reasons. It is a beautiful language.
As to language lessons and time, I am not sure. I work full time. Ideally, I was thinking of finding once a week classes.

I have taken 2 years of university Italian but I'm certainly still a beginner! We focussed alot on grammar and writing, but I'm really interested in learning how to hold a conversation more than anything else! I'm pretty fluent in French already (I did the French Immersion thing until grade 12 then took 2 years of French at University) but I could also use some brushing up. Mostly I just love Italian, Italy and the Italian culture and I would love to learn enough conversationa l Italian to be able to eventually live and work in Italy for a time. This is a really long-term goal, however, and for now, I just love the language and I want to expand my minimal knowledge of it! I'm just looking for something really casual, maybe in a group atmosphere, where we could sit and talk or cook some Italian food or watch an Italian movie...more like a little club than formal instruction.
