I was raised in Istanbul, Turkey, and so I am somewhat familiar with some Arabic terms. However, I have always wanted to learn the language, and there is no time like the present. I am willing to dedicate as much time as is needed to get a full grasp on the language. In my teacher I am looking for patience and understanding . I am an english canadian living outside Beirut and I am having difficulty finding a teacher/tutor of arabic. I will be 4 weeks in Montreal, from 13 July to 10 August and would love to study arabic either privately, or within a small group, which is preferable. I am available any days, but would prefer about 2 hours/day, 3 or 4 days per week. I have taken one introductory course in Beirut. I am interested in conversation only, verb conjugasions, pronounciatio n, greetings, how to express myself, etc.
I will be staying in the Outremont area of Montreal.
I am available to start from 15 July.

I have just graduated from university and would like to spend my spare time learning arabic, because my father was born in syria and he never had the chance to teach me. I feel disconnected from arabic culture, because i do not know how to speak the language. This keeps me from visiting my relatives in syria and understanding the culture.
I only know a few words in arabic. basically, i think i will have to begin from the start and learn letters (how to read and write), numbers, and how to form sentences for general conversation.
i think it would be good to meet twice a week for about 2 hours. i am looking for a tolerant teacher, preferably female, with good knowledge of the language and a lot of patience and good will.
