I would like to learn Spanish as a third language (I am conversant in French) so that I can use it as I look for a global career position. I am a beginner and I need a full top-to-bottom learning environment. I will dedicate as much time as needed to master this language, hopefully by the Summer 2011. I am interested in learning more than spanish. I spent 4 months in Costa Rica learning Spanish, so I am not looking for Spanish classes to learn Spanish, but classes to perfect my Spanish and classes in other languages. First I would like to study Russian again. I lived in Russia for 4 months but did not have the chance to speak it well and I am afraid I have forgotten most of my vocabulary. I would also like to study French and the German. Eventually Mandarin and Japanese. All of this would be for career advancement. I would like to work as a translator.
I don't yet know how much time I want to devote to my language learning. Unfortunately , I won't know that until January. I am a college student and have other classes, but I would also like to study a language at the same time. I am looking for a teacher who is fun and interactive and would help me learn languages by using them. I am good at grammar, but to retain the vocabulary, I need to constantly practice speaking. I'd be interested in having classes with a teacher who is willing to meet me in parts of the town or city where the classes are to physically interact with the vocabulary. Also for this reason, I prefer classes in person.
in all languages, except for Spanish, I am a beginner. Because of my lack of Spanissh vocabulary, I am advanced-inte rmadiate in Spanish and despite my time in Russia, I am still a beginner in Russian because of lack of practice. I did not have practice in Russian after returning to the States because I was preparing myself to leave and go to Costa Rica - therefore, refreshing my Spanish.

I always fascinated by the Spanish speaker here in my current work/ business position. As I often encounter most of my clients were fluent Spanish speaker and I was thinking this Spanish Language will be a good use for me now as well as for future.

Saludos.
I would like a weekly lesson of an hour to two hours of Spanish private tutoring in my home in Denver Colorado. I am willing to pay $20.00 per hour for each lesson. I want to be able to read Spanish writing and poetry in the original, to speak reasonably fluent Spanish and gain a deeper appreciation of the Spanish language.
I would like a native speaker from Spain, Mexico, or Central or South America with a good accent, who has an enthusiasm for Spanish literature music and poetry. I have a haphazard grasp of Spanish, which means that I can read and understand normal Spanish with some help from my dictionary, but I would be very happy if these lessons help me to attain conversationa l and writing fluency in this lifetime if that happens to be possible.
I would like a tutor who can find a good balance of structure and fun, meaning someone who can integrate a lesson plan of grammar and fluency skills with Spanish short stories, music, magazine or newspaper articles, poetry and other aspects of Spanish culture. I consider a kind, pleasant and easy going temperament in a teacher a big plus. I would prefer an older teacher to a younger one, but this is only a preference and not an absolute requirement.
I live 10 to 15 minutes North of downtown Denver.
I have a dog, so I hope you are not allergic to them.
I would prefer afternoon or evening lessons as I am not an early riser.
I am a 57 year old retired employee of the state of Colorado. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and English is my first language.
