I would love to learn Japanese because I admire the culture and hope to become a frequent visitor of Japan and possibly even move there for a while. I can speak basically nothing, just the first twenty numbers and all the months. I'd like to become fluent or at least close to fluent. Weekends are great and weekedays are a bit harder but are possible. I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in japanese and can speak the language just like the natives of Japan do. Someone who can make learning it fun and who has at least some knowledge of japanese history. I don't want to learn just the language, I'd like to learn the Japanese culture.

I have studied 4 years of Japanese in high school (may sound like a lot, but I still only learned the basics). In 2008, I did an internship as part of my University program with a Japanese company in Yokkaichi, Japan. I was there for seven months. I would like to go back to Japan someday and maybe live there. Therefore, I would like to get my JLPT Level 1 someday (2 at least!).
W hile I was in Japan, I was given 1-on-1 lessons a week provided by my company. I purchased a couple of text books for it.
I would say my Japanese level is conversationa l, but I have to think awhile before I know how to say something.
I prefer to do face-to-face lessons at least once a week.
