I've always had my mind set on learning another language (I speak German and English fluently) and I always thought it was going to be French, Italian or Spanish since what with living in Europe I'm mostly exposed to these language. None of these languages have however really excited me but I am head over heels in love with Mandarin. The sound of the language, the culture, the characters. Just about everything. I love speaking (even if I am quite bad at it for the time being), I love writing the language and discovering more and more things about the language as well as China.
I started lessons in February 2011 and have intermediate knowledge of the language, I passed my level 2 HSK exam in October 2011.
