I am looking to learn cantonese to an advanced level. I have no previous experience with this language, although i have tried a few online sites but do not find them helpful. There are always chinese words and the english sound beside it and i find that i do not learn the character but instead just look for the english to pronounce it, i feel it would be much better for me to hear the sound while looking at the character.
I intend to dedicate all of my spare time into mastering cantonese, i'm looking for a tutor to help me on a one to one basis or classroom environment.

My interest in foreign languages is a personal interest which I hope to develop into a professional resource at a later time. I currently have practically no foreign language experience save for the Spanish course from my days in high school. This makes all areas of the language studies areas that I need to improve. My ability to allot time to my Language studies is dictated by my full time job as well as my full time formal educational pursuits. Once commenced I will not take lightly any requirements for studying the language, but I will need flexibility for certain periods of time and understanding that I may not be able to dedicate 20 hrs a week to this particular study.
As far as an instructor is concerned I take feedback very seriously and expect to be informed when I am not doing something correctly, but I also expect to be shown respect for my attempt to learn despite any difficulties which may present themselves through the learning process.
I also have an associate interested in learning as well and would like to be able to include this individual in the learning process so either private instruction or instruction with this associate is preferred to open classes/large r groups.
