I really want to continue learning Italian and would like to become more fluent this school year. I am a senior graduating from my university and can no longer afford to take classes at a university for a language. It is difficult to find universities or tutors to teach Italian where I live. I have taken 2 semesters of Italian, and worked abroad this past summer in Lake Como Italy. As a result of the work abroad program, I have become familiar with listening to the language. I want to continue learning Italian because I am graduating and plan to look for graduate programs in Italy. I need improvement most importantly in pronunciation and conversation but also grammar. I would like to be able to meet 1 or 2 times per week. Preferably I would like a teacher that speaks Italian as they speak in the northern region of Italy.

I'm a writer and cook working on a project that brings me to Italy. I will be spending some time near La Spezia and Carrara and then traveling South to Puglia. I am a student of Slavic Languages and studied Russian and Serbian at University. I have basic skills in French as well. I am a beginner student attempting to learn the Italian language at the community college that I am currently attending. This will alow me to open the window of opportunity to continue college at a university level. I am having problems in almost all aspects of the language. I do want to become semi-proficie nt in the language and I want to dedicate my time at least 2-3 times per week with a tutor 1-2 hours at a time. I am looking for a teacher who has structure. This will help me stay on focus with the subject matter rather than being clueless. I will also need a tutor as soon as possible, test date is 28 September.
