Namaste,
My name is Heath Callaway and I am interested in learning Sanskrit to help with my Religious studies in college. I am a beginner and would be wiling to dedicate 2-3 1-2hour classes a week. I am a student ad therefore do not have a lot of money to spend on this but it has been a dream of mine for some time!!
I also might be spending this summer in Bengal learning Bangla and be interested in a teacher that can help me prepare for my summer courses and then continue my Bangla studies when I return.

I am Indian by birth, I was born in Bombay and lived there till I was 21 years of age. I have lived in several asian countries and the middle east before moving to the US where I now reside. I grew up speaking mostly English but have a good understanding and speaking capability for Hindi. I would like to learn and expand my knowledge of Urdu (mostly speech), and learn Sanskrit. This is for my personal growth and interest. I will need grammer, conversation and an understanding of the concept of the language. If given the right materials and teacher, I would spend about 1/2 hour everyday towards studying, and enhance that with books, movies and other ways to expose my interest further. I would like to have a teacher who is strong in Urdu and Sanskrit and has a solid knowledge of their origins. They should be able to speak English, although I can understand Hindi.

I would like to learn sanskrit for I have a great love for the practice of hinduism and yoga, and also for buddhism. I have recently grown a great interest in sankrit and a burning desire to learn. I have no previous experience in the language so I would be classified as a beginner. I would like to be able to dedicate as much time as the teacher feels is required for the lessons.
