I recently travelled to Tanzania, and have discovered my love for this country! I wish to travel to Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda in the future, once I have finished my degree and graduate year of work (in 1.5-2.5 years time). I am hoping to become somewhat fluent in Swahili (if possible), by the time I travel to these countries, as I wish to undertake volunteer work and work within the communities. I was in Tanzania for a 6 week period and during this time I was only able to learn very basic greetings, please, thank you, etc in Swahili. I really enjoy this language and I hope that I can become fluent for future travels, and possibly would assist to gain a permanent visa in these countries.
I can dedicated one session per fortnight, and would also require homework, and access to materials that I could study in my own time. I would only be able to afford one session per fortnight at this stage, however I would increase this if it became financially possible.

My partner is native Hungarian and although she speaks perfect English it would be pleasant to also communicate in her foreign language as well as with her family and friends. Having been together for a few years i understand basic Hungarian (Numbers, Days, Months and greetings) but have no grammatical knowledge or how to piece sentences together. This would be the area I would look to excel in - how to have a conversation etc.
I am looking to have lessons once a week but open to a better learning structure if it is required. I am looking for a teacher who understands the difficulties of an English speaker learning this COMPLEX language. I have tried in the past only to have teachers assuming that the new language will be remembered immediately so patience is a key for me.
