1. studied for two months. know the characters and basic vocabulary. also know everyday language in the most basic terms. (lived there and can get around fine)
2. want to be able to communicate with my cousins better (they don't speak english)

4. once or twice a week
5. a) good use of class time. for example, i don't think doing work during a session that i could do on my own is very useful. b) preparation. lessons should be well-planned c) knowledge of teaching strategies, not just of the language
