I am a beginning Korean language student. I desire to learn Korean so that I can befriend Korean people more easily, both in my hometown and for traveling purposes. I especially need help with grammar, conversation, and vocabulary improvement. I expect to be in Korea until December 2007. I am looking for a teacher who will provide me with practice in grammar structures and vocabulary improvement. I am also looking for a teacher who will assign homkework and correct it within a reasonable amount of time. The main thing is I want to learn how to converse in Korean for befriending people~! I spoke Korean as a first language until I was five years old, then stopped. I can understand a bit of spoken Korean, but I am very inhibited about speaking my five year old Korean out loud. I would like to learn Korean since it is a part of my heritage.
I could devote several hours a week to lessons.
I have had bad experiences with teachers who could not understand my family situation or who took my not keeping up with my Korean as a mark of moral deficiency. I'd like to meet someone tolerant.
