Hello,
Basically I am a Beginner, although I do have between 300 and 400 word vocabulary in Russian. I am married to a Russian lady and have been for 7 years, and frequently have her parents to Canada for visits. I can have basic conversation with her parents but i know my grammer and tenses are non-existent.
My 2 daughters are bi-lingual, and would love to be able to converse with them in either language. I do for the most part know the Cyrillic alphabet, but do struggle on the spelling of most words.
We do travel to Russia quite often, and would like to feel comfortable roaming around on my own, and able to ask directions.
My interest would be for a stronger grasp on conversationa l Russian and tenses, but do not plan to be writing many letters so written language isn't a high priority.
I am interested in either private or small group lessons. I work a 4 day on, 6 day off pattern.
I work as a Paramedic in Vancouver, and find I run into a huge number of Russian speaking people and so often knowing more of this language would come in handy with the work I do. I have a decent grasp of French, Spanish and German already, but really want to put effort into my level of Russian.

I am a new student to the Russian language. I would like to learn it because it is my husband's native language. We are having a baby and plan on teaching the child both Russian and English. Also, his parents speak Russian and we plan on visiting them in Lithuania on a yearly basis. I want to be able to speak comfortably with his parents and friends. I have begun learning the alphabet, pronunciation , and I know a few words but I am far from being able to hold a conversation in Russian. I am willing to dedicate a lot of time to my learning. I am looking for a dependable teacher with experience teaching Russian and one who finds it easy to explain the multiple facets of the language. Ideally I would like a teacher that I can meet with every week, but would be fine if it is only once every two weeks. I also have a few workbooks if they are needed to ease lesson planning.
