I spent a year in Suzhou, China, for my dad's job last year, and have learned some basic putonghwa. I would like to continue learning, because I find the language very fun and interesting. For me, leaning Mandarin is somewhat easier than learning a different language because it has a lot in common with Korean, my native language.
My level in Mandarin is around beginner-inte rmidiate,
and I would like to improve in grammer and being able to say my thoughts out loud in Mandarin. I am in no need for help with pronounciatio n.
I would like to have lessons of 1.5 to 2 hours, with a teacher that is always prepared, not to strict, and has many different activities that help learn Chinese.

Coming from an asian family and not knowing their native language, I am very interested and eager to learn mandarin. I have no history at all with learning the language so I would be a beginner. I would love to do a lesson a week since I am also attending UBC and will be currently in other studies. I am looking for an understanding and dedicated teacher, one who tries their best to make their students excel in their areas of interest.
