I will be in Osaka, Japan for the summer. My profiency level is probably beginner. I know hiragana and almost no kanji. I am starting graduate school in the Fall (2009) and need to complete a language requirement by then. I am looking for intensive training where I relearn the basics while also working on Japanese to English translations for the sake of research.
I am willing to spend a lot of time on this in July and August. I envision about three hours a day.

Dear Sir,
Good day. I would like to learn Japanese language for my career advancement and to further enhance my personal language abilities. My proficiency level is beginner.

I have been studying Japanese for about a year and a half. I have been learning through books, music, internet. I am trying to learn Japanese so that I can go to Kanazawa art school.
