I have been studying the Arabic language on my own for the past six months or so, utilizing various books and software packages. However, I am primarily interested in developing conversationa l skills in the Lebanese dialect. My fiancee is a native of Beirut and I would love nothing more than to be able to one day converse with her and her family in their native tongue. Additionally, I am looking to take up Middle Eastern studies eventually, and knowledge of the language is a prerequisite for in-depth study. I am willing to donate much of my free time to studying and currently try to work at least and hour or two every other evening before bed. It is somewhat difficult, however, because I have no set course of study. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient and able to articulate clearly whatever lesson he/she is intending to teach.

My friend and I are very much interested in learning for an Arabic language because we were planning to go to Dubai for an employment hopefully this last quarter of the year. In this regard, we are searching for a tutor/teacher who can help us learn how to speak/convers e properly an Arabic language since Dubai is our destination. Are availability in studying the said language is only evey saturday afternoon.

I would say my proficiency level with the Arabic language would be a beginner, but I am familiar with alot of the words. I was married to a Palestinian for almost three years and picked up on alot of the words. I do not know the structure or gramatical way of speaking the language. I am in school now and for the summer quarter I will only be attending classes 2 days a week, so I could devote 2 days a week as well to learining Arabic. I find this language very unique as well as any other foreign language but since I have experienced Arabic on a personal level I would like to learn more. I do not see this advancing my career goals but learning something new can never hurt you.
