I have studied 3 1/2 years of Mandarin Chinese, including 2 months in Beijing with Princeton in Beijing.I studied 1 1/2 years of Japanese and have studied a little Korean on my own. I am particularly interested in studying Chinese. I live in Keelung, and most teachers seem to be in Taipei. Because of this, I think I would have to do a lot of online learning, unless I could find a reasonable priced tutor who could come to Keelung. I would like maybe an hour or so per week in person, with maybe an additional 1-2 hours online or by phone. Right now I would just like to be able to communicate and live comfortably in Taiwan, but I am thinking of a career in translation.

I am a computer engineer and have in plans to stay in Korea for a long time. So I feel an obligation to learn Korean language to fit better into Korean society, to communicate with my co-workers, to make some friends and so. Therefore the main goal is to develop communication skills. But I am interested in grammar too.
My proficiency level in Korean language is complete beginner at the moment. Despite the fact that my native language is Russian I feel quite freely with English too, so I can take lessons in either language.
