Hello,
I am studying Persian Farsi and am at a beginner level. I went through an immersion program 6 years ago and enjoyed the language. Unfortunately I didnt keep up with what I learned with Farsi and am now interested in hiring a private tutor living in the Chicago, Illinois area to begin tutoring me. I am interested in studying so that I can get to an advanced level. This would mean that I am interested in finding a tutor that I can study with every day or close to that. I am taking this seriously and would like to speak with someone who would be interested in teaching me. I am looking for a teacher who is serious, be willing to meet close to everyday, someone who possibly has a teaching background and someone who will challage me. I am half Persian and have grown up hearing the language all of my life. My mother is American, but she lived in Iran with my father for a while and she speaks Farsi fluently. I would describe my proficiency level as being 'baby talk'
I know words, but I don't form sentences correctly and my accent is not good. I want to travel to Tehran next year to visit my family and it would make my grandmother very happy if I can speak Farsi better. I am a stay at home mom, so I can devote many hours a day to studying. I hope to learn from a native Iranian speaker since the Farsi spoke in other areas sounds so much different.
