I am a foreign news editor from Romania, have been doing this for 6 years. The reason I want to learn Arabic is very simple. Actually, there are more. First of all, there is my job's nature. I am trying to stay close to Arabian culture and community in order to teach others good things in those domaines. On the other hand, Romania media lacks of Arabic speaking journalists and nobody could convince me that there are no interesting news, comments or other kind of press articles in this region.
Well , as you might figure it out my proficiency level is somewhere beyond beginner. And I am expecting that my teacher should be serious, hard-working and communicative .

need beginners classes. i want to learn because my family is originaly from lebanon,i want to learn the lebanise arabic, conversation is probably the main thing to be able to comunicate with my family.

Hello to all.
My name is Alexandra and I am interested in learning arabic. I have studied photography and cultural anthropology in the past and I intend to travel around the area of the Levant. (southeastern Mediterannean ) I will be in boston for the next 7 months and would like to develop some conversationa l skills along with reading and writting the basics. I guess that I would say I am at an intermediate level of Arabic. Mostly, I am self taught, that is I have 'teach yourself' books, and when I was in Iraq, I would frequently pull translators aside to learn key phrases and words. I also took a Berlitz course (but it was more of a refresher for me than a learning experience) I need to improve my vocabulary, my grammar, and my time associations (ie. past present future) I would like to increase my vocabulary beyond 'military uses'. I would like to dedicate about 3-5hrs a week for furthering my abilities in Arabic. My goal is to be able to speak fluently within a year. As of now, I can write fairly well, can read text (I can sound out the words, and I can associate if the word is in my vocabulary). I enjoy learning Arabic, it has helped me out greatly, and I can honestly say that the knowledge I have so far has saved my life. I am looking for a tutor that is dedicated, and perferably knows various dialects aside from the 'Mother' language ie. Syrian, Iraqi etc.

I am interested in taking Arabic lessons/class es at the beginner level. My husband is Lebanese and I would like to be able to communicate with his non-English speaking relatives. I am primarily intersted in grammar and conversation, not so much in reading and writing. I would be available 1-2 times weekly during the evenings only. I would like to learn from someone who has hish expectations, yet is patient. I would also like to learn from an istructor who speaks arabic natively and who is fluent in the Lebanese dialect (I understand that it is quite different from Egyptian and Gulf dialects).
