I am learning my foreign language because I love Spanish, and I want to travel a lot for my job in the future and I think that knowing a second language could be very helpful.
I am a beginner at this language.
I would only want to go to classes about once or twice a week for an hour or so, because I have work and school. But I would like to, if possible , be bilingual in one year, by the time a graduate.
The quality I am looking for in a teacher is patience. They are going to need a lot with me, and should be able to laugh.

I have chosen to advance my skills in languages because I am currently enrolled in International Economics and Development at the University of Ottawa. I have taken a great interest in Latin America, thus wishing to learn spanish. Unfortunately I never took the opportunity in highschool to enroll in spanish classes, therefore I am seeking outside help. I am at the beginner stage with no previous background knowledge. I am hoping to dedicate 1-3 hours a week on learning the language, but anything more than those hours will not be possible due to my current schedule with school. During the summer months, however, I will be more likely to put in a greater amount of hours.
I am looking for an instructor who understands the language AND the culture of Latin America. My goal is to one-day create an irrigation system which links houses in rural areas with a water pipe-line. I need to be able to converse with the natives of the land, but also to understand their situtation from more than a textbook discription. I am also looking for someone who as a general interest in ME as a person and cares about my success; someone who knows my name, rather than just me as a number.

I'm looking to learn as my wife is from Argentina and while her family speaks English fluently I want to be able to converse in their native language.
I' d say my current level is beginner so all areas need improvement.
I'm looking to dedicate 2-4 hours a week.
