I would like to learn cantonese and I don't really have a specific reason, I just think that it would be good to learn a new language when i still can, and i do have a spare 6 months in hand. my cantonese proficiency? zero. you could say that i'm a beginner, i just want to learn enough to make conversations correctly. therefore, i'm looking for a cantonese teacher who speaks english well, a little bit of thai would be an advantage but not necessary.

Dear tutor:
I spoke fluent Cantonese as a child but have forgotten most of it. I would like to improve my proficieny. My level is beginner intermediate. I have a grasp of the five Cantonese tones for the most part. I am able to understand 50% of everyday speech. My main goal is to use Cantonese for specific situations at my workplace. More specifically, my goal is to improve my vocabulary and listening comprehension . Learning some of the written language would be of interest as well but it is not a priority. I am fluent in French as well and thus have the 'flexibility' needed in acquiring a new language. I only have one day per week to devote to lessons.
The teacher should be a native speaker who is able to focus on teaching the oral language as spoken everyday including slang. He (she) should be able to offer succint, focussed lessons. I would rather not have to use a text or grammer book.

I'd like to learn the aforementione d languages to enable me to converse with my counterparts, without the presence of a translator. Furthermore, it will be beneficial for my career advancement in the near future.
As I have no background use of the languages mentioned, I am just a beginner.
In particular, I would like to focus on being able to converse in Mandarin.
Having language lessons once or twice a week will be best.
As I know close to nothing about the Mandarin language, it will be best that my teacher possesses patience and positivity.
