We adopted our son, Evan Vanya, from Vladivostok, Russia in 1997 when he was two years old. He now speaks perfect English, he is in the 4th grade, and although he has made slow progress with reading and writing, he is catching up. For the first two years of his life the only language he ever heard or spoke was Russian. We believe it is important for Evan to know the Russian language so that he will more clearly understand and appreciate his heritage. Also, as an educator myself, I know that children who learn a second language become better at learning in other subjects as well. I would like to learn Russian along with Evan. It would be ideal if we could find a tutor who lives in the Sacramento area with whom we could meet and learn the language. At this point, we are interested in learning general, conversationa l Russian.

I would be a beginner and I want to learn the language for career advacement, I could devote 10 to 20 hours a week towards learning of this language. Looking for a teacher that can do both in person classes as well as online. I hope to find one in which I could travel to for 3 days of in person teaching then follow up with 2 weeks of online teaching then repeat the in person. This is just a loose idea would be open to any other suggestions of what my work better.
