complete beginner, going to tanzania for 4 months to do research for an MA thesis, will be in contact with locals who speak swahili and i wish to be able to communicate with them without the need for a translator, i think will add to my research.
i'm going in about 6 weeks so the sooner i can start the better and i can put as much time as needed into the classes. i find i learn languages much easier through practice and by hearing the language and trying to imitate it that way, as opposed to reading and writing and conjugating it on paper.

I have not had any experience of speaking or writing Swahili but I am very eager to learn the basics of the language. I plan on travelling to Africa, possibly with work, and would like to be able to communicate. Mainly, I would like conversation. As I am a postgraduate student, I would like to dedicate one-two hours per week to my language lessons. In a teacher, I would like someone who understand Swahili thoroughly and who can explain it well as a foreign language.

I am a student studying in Dublin. I have visited Africa twice to work as a volunteer there, I plan to do so again this summer. When I graduate I hope to be able to work in Africa and so learning Swahili would be a great help to me. I am a complete beginner but am very keen to learn. I would ideally like to have a private session with my tutor for one hour a week. It is important to me that my tutor is reliable, enthusiastic and creative.
