Young children are able to learn a foreign language in somewhat the same way that native speakers learn it. That is, by immersion. It is good, therefore, to teach young children by means of vocabulary drills, reading, and listening, and give them some speaking and writing. Some things that can assist with learning through vocabulary, reading, and listening are pictures, comprehension questions, and stories that are already known by the children in their native language.
