All my one to one lessons are specifically tailored to an individual students needs, therefore every course will be different. Courses can be designed to concentrate on areas of weakness in the language or areas of particular importance, for example for a student's job requirements. I understand how difficult and frustrating learning a language can be, and therefore I like to create an environment that enables a student to use the language confidently through support and encouragement . I also like to encourage students to continue learning after the course has finished and will help them to discover the best way for them, individually to achieve this.

I start on basics depending on each students level of knowledge in the Language and build on what is previously learned. Starting with sounds is very crucial for beginners for it helps in correct pronunciation s.I like posting the lesson before hand and we later discuss it on Skype or phone, this dependent on the learners preference. I try to make the lesson process be as normal and comfortable as possible without making it sound as jargon.My lessons are more of interactive than 'filling an empty bottle.' |

My approach is conversationa l. Learning should be fun more than anything, that is my philosophy. Each student is the focus of the lesson, their individual needs become a personal challenge for me to meet in the most effective way possible.
Le ssons are taught solely in the tongue being taught, as long as the level of the student allows it. Young learners are exempt from this as their understanding or not of the language at first does not mean I will be speaking Greek (which as far as they are concerned, I cannot do!) but on the contrary, they must learn English in order to facilitate our playing together.
I have never taught the same lesson twice in all my teaching career. Both the student(s) and I bring our personalities to the lesson and what results is a unique mix every time.
I am also a pronunciation fanatic! I will not allow my students to mispronounce words, no matter how much it pains them at first! I will correct them over and over again ( my patience does appear to be e... |
