I like to work with people 2-6 hours at a time in each session. Typically I work with people once per week. Much practice between sessions is required. Generally, people complete my course and are quite fluent and easy to understand within 6 weeks (which is very fast for those in business). |

for the foreigner students, the most important thing is to catch their attention first, chinese is difficult language to learn for foreigners. for kids i will ask them to play games and act in drama to make sure they can keep attention always. for adults, usually i will give them the interesting conversitions first. to master a foreign language, cannot just teach grammar, they need to learn how to speak, from my experience, i think reject grammar is better than just teach from text book. |
