And you should use "in contrast" instead of "in contract". in contract, for what i know is that contract means is an agreement between two or more parties for the doing or not doing of something specified.

It's very difficult for native but I'd like to help you.
Do you know Me-ue and Me-shita?
Me-ue: People whose social status is higher than you. For example, elder, boss,teacher, etc.
Me-shita:People whose social status is lower than you.
We usually don't use "Arigatou gozaimasu" to Me-shita people. It's too formal and sometimes sounds funny.
In contract, "doumo arigatou" is not used for Me-ue people. It's impolite.
When you talk with the people belongs similar level of you(called Dou-hai), you can use both. As same as relationship between "vous" and "tu" in French, or "Nin" and "Ni" in Chinese. ...Am I right?
