Re:mark the boat decks
The expression doesn't have any idiomatic meaning that I'm aware of, so I can't really know what it means out of context. But here are a few guesses:

First off, a "deck" on a boat is the open-air part that people can stand on. (Sorry if you knew that already!)

To mark can mean to make marks on, so "mark the boat decks" might mean something like drawing on the deck (making an intentional mark), or it might mean scuffing or damaging the deck (making a mark unintentionally, by accident.)

To mark can also mean "to take note of," "to notice" - so in an old sense of the word it might mean something about taking notice of the decks on a boat - where they are or some quality of them.

Unfortunately without context I don't know whether it's an imperative phrase or not, so I can't be much more use.

Good luck!

Re:French- how to say a friend who is a girl
The correct response to your question is "Mon amie" if your friend is a girl and "Mon ami" if he is a boy. As you can spot you make the difference with the added "_e" letter in the feminine case.
You do not use Ma amie in order to avoid (as stated above) to say two vowels in a row - in all these cases you keep "mon" and do not use "ma".

Re:mark the boat decks
Here is my two cents.
I believe it means to put signs so as to know where to go if you want to reach a given destination. Actually on a large ship there are several decks such as the Upper Deck, the Middle Deck the Lower Deck, etc... and if you want to find your way you use signs posted all over the ship.
By extension this idiom "Mark the boat decks" recommends you mark your staff, or files or things or whatsoever so you do not waste time looking for what or where to go.

Cheers,
jb

answer to "thank you"
Hello! I have a question how to answer, if somebody says "thank you". I read about the answer "you´re welcome", but I can´t translate it really or exactly. If you say "you´re welcome" in Germany it is a greeting to a very good friend and it is not the answer to a simple thank. I think it has it´s own sence or maybe it only will be used in special areas of english-speaking countries? Who can give me more informations about this? Thank you and best regards, Marion
