Re:portuguese pronunciation
Hi Stine,

I thought about your question, but I just can't think of any word that ends with 's' and sounds like 'sh'. I thought it might be Portugal Portguese, but you said both were Brazilian. It definetly must be a regional thing. Can you write some examples of those words?

portuguese pronunciation
Hi!
I have just started learning brazilian portuguese, and was wondering if anyone can help me with a pronunciation question. I have two different audio courses (both brazilian) in one of them, the s at the end of words is often (but not always) pronounced like "sh". In the other one, the s is always pronounced like s at the end of words.
Is this a regional difference in Brazil? And if so, which version is the most common one? And if s is pronounced "sh" at the end of words in parts of Brazil, is that consistent for all words, or are there rules for when the s is pronounced "sh"?
Hope someone can help :)
