Hi.. i plan a trip to New Zerland soon, is there anyone could tell me which island i could arrive? I only have about 10 days, I need to know which season is the best, also the living cost on hotel, transportation and food. I am a backpack traveler. Thanks.

Hi Jess, I presume you mean New Zealand is the place you are visiting? I live in Hamilton, North Island, New Zealand. Most overseas flights arrive in Auckland, North Island. Depending on what you want to see most tourists would head south to Rotorua and maybe Taupo. We have great skiing in Winter if you are into that and down in the South Island would be the most snow. Summer is a great time in New Zealand as we have so many lovely beaches to choose from. The best ones are on the Eastern side such as Mount Maunganui, Whangamata, Hawkes Bay & Gisborne. I am travelling to Europe next week, back at Christmas. If I was here when you arrived I would welcome you but I dont know when you are planning your trip. Good luck, Donna
