hi! boricua...i never used that word, but it means a person that is from Puerto Rico, in spanish: puertorriqueño, it´s the same.

The word boriqua came from the word Boriken which came from the Taino indians that lived in puerto rico before the spanish moved in. So when puerto ricans use this word, its recognizing and in a way representing their Taino heritage :)
