Aloha!
Hey. My name is Zoe. I'm trying to learn how to speak Afrikaans so i can go on a trip to Africa after i graduate and be able to speak with the locals. If anyone can help me out that'd be so great! I can also help you out with your English.

Hey you realise that Afrikaans is only spoken by a couple of million people only in South Africa and Namibia? The rest of Africa won't have a clue what you're saying, and you're better off learning English French and Swahili... There is no pan-African language. I have a phrasebook called African phrases which has about 8 different languages... it's saved my life on several occasions!
However, Afrikaans is a beautiful language and I love speaking it. If you want to learn that then I do recommend it, just make sure you don't think it's a language spoken in the whole of Africa!
