Erlkönig
I'm writing a composition on the poem "Erlkönig" by Goethe, and I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to say that in the poem, the physical world and the "Wirklichkeit" meet, intersect. The problem is translating a word for "meet." Any suggestions?

Re:Erlkönig
I pulled these out of my computerized dictionary real quick. I'm thinking 'sich treffen, sich entegegenkommen', possibly even 'sich begegnen, aufeinander treffen, zusammenfliessen’, might be some choices for you. Hope they help.

Concise Oxford German Dictionary English/German

meet
transitive verb, met
(come face to face with or into the company of) treffen;
meet somebody halfway (fig.) jemandem [auf halbem Wege] entgegenkommen;

intransitive verb, met
(come face to face) (by chance) sich (Dat.) begegnen;
[Bahnlinien, Straßen usw.:] aufeinander treffen;
[Flüsse] zusammenfließen

Jen-- I've been studying German for a few years. If you are a gold member (I'm not) drop me a line and I'll try to help you out.
