Haruki Murakami
Hello Everyone
My most recent book was 'Chronicles of a wind-up bird' by (Japanese) author Haruki Murakami.
I hadn't heard of him until a friend of mine suggested another book of his 'Norwegian wood'. I haven't read that but read the one above as i chanced upon it at a friend's place. Am i glad or what?!
The book is absolute brilliance! Infact, i would even recommend the book to beginners in English as the author writes in simple English except for a few words of course.

However, please don't let the size of the it overwhelm you! Once you begin, you will be consumed by the madness of it!

If you've already read it or when you do read it(!) we could have an exchange on our views on it:o)

Well I can't really help with your language goals, but I just read it and did also enjoy the book quite a lot. I am just beginning Japanese, so am hoping for some rudimentary Japanese conversation. But if you're interested in talking about the story anyway, maybe we can chat. Maybe I should learn some German along the way :)
