I am looking for reading material for someone beginning to learn German. Preferably free and online. Any ideas?

If seeing a reply has gotten your hopes up, I'm sorry; I don't have an answer, I'm after the answer myself, and am hoping that by replying I'll get updates to this thread... (does that happen?)

I've been snooping around for the same thing... so far I've found fairy-tales by the Brothers Grimm are fairly short and simple, but I'm not entirely sure if they're written in a common/modern style <.< have you found anything?
