I would like to know an expression in Spanish that means the same as the English idiom "to march to the beat of your own drum". Meaning, you do things your own way and do not follow the crowd.

Re:idioms
"ir a tu bola" (fam)
"ir a tu rollo" (fam)

Yo siempre voy a mi bola, no hago lo mismo que los demás.

"ir a tu bola" or "ir a tu rollo" are ok, but they're colloquial. Take care with that.

Thank you for your response. I am in contact with Spanish speakers from Mexico, mostly. By "colloquial", what area do you mean?

colloquial just means very slang, its a style of writing just as you have formal and informal, colloquial is a "level below" informal.
