i want to understand all about gerund...and the use of it

Gerunds have 3 things in common. 1. Gerunds derive or come from a verb. 2. All gerunds end in -ing. 3. And gerunds are used as or is a noun.
For example in this sentence: I like eating pizza.
Eating is a gerund because it comes from the verb "to eat"; ends in -ing; and eating is also a noun because it is the THING you like. ; its part of the whole noun phrase "eating pizza"
But in this sentence "eating" is NOT a gerund. I am eating pizza.
Although eating comes from a verb and it ends in "ing". It is NOT a noun because (am) eating is a verb.

For your information, a GERUND IS NEVER A NOUN. "Pizza" is the only noun in your sentence...
