Sigur Ros Translation--Icelandic
Hey I really into Sigur Ros but i cannot find any translations for their songs. Can anyone help me? I would love to know what they are saying. They make great songs and her buetiful voice makes me want to learn icelandic...i cant fit them all on here but here are a few

The CD is Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros

svefn-g-englar

ég er kominn aftur
inn í þig
það er svo gott að vera hér
en stoppa stutt við
ég flýt um í neðarsjávar hýði
á hóteli
beintengdur við rafmagnstöfluna
og nærist
tjú tjú
en biðin gerir mig leiðan
brot hættan sparka frá mér
og kall á - verð að fara - hjálp
ég spring út og friðurinn í loft upp
baðaður nýju ljósi
ég græt og ég græt - aftengdur
ónýttur heili settur á brjóst
og mataður af svefn-g-englum

starálfur

blá nótt yfir himininn
blá nótt yfir mér
horf-inn út um gluggann
minn með hendur
faldar undir kinn
hugsum daginn minn
í dag og í gær
blá náttfötin klæða mig í
beint upp í rúm
breiði mjúku sængina
loka augunum
ég fel hausinn minn undir sæng
starir á mig lítill álfur
hleypur að mér en hreyfist ekki
úr stað – sjálfur
starálfur
opna augun
stírurnar úr
teygi mig og tel (hvort ég sé ekki)
kominn aftur og alltalltílæ
samt vantar eitthvað
eins og alla vegginna

viðrar vel til loftárása

ég læt mig líða áfram
í gegnum hausinn
hugsa hálfa leið
afturábak
sé sjálfan mig syngja fagnaðarerindið
sem við sömdum saman
við áttum okkur draum
áttum allt
við riðum heimsendi
við riðum leitandi
klifruðum skýjakljúfa
sem síðar sprungu upp
friðurinn úti
ég lek jafnvægi
dett niður
alger þögn
ekkert svar
en það besta sem guð hefur skapað
er nýr dagur

It's not a good idea to post songs here and ask for a translation. You need to start learning Icelandic if you want to understand the songs.

I am trying to learn Italian. I downloaded some mp3 songs, got the lyrics, and translated some. I get help with phrases and lines when needed.

Well. You certainly don´t ask of simple things. They use heavy expressions in icelandic, that will be difficult to translate in to english, especially for it is after all, a song, and not a text.

They almost even reinvent the language in their songs. Sometimes they add words, that haven´t been used for years. But here it goes.

Few of the words in those lyrics are the expressions that you would learn at your earlier stages of icelandic. Trying to translate it directly like this, is like sucking out the meaning a little. But you get the basic idea of the contents, by the translation that follows in here.

A fair start - CD by Sigurros

Sleepwalkers

Once again I come
Inside of you
Being here is so good
But I do not dwell long
I float around in a undersees seedcase
At a hotel
Directly linked with the electric board
And feed
Tjú Tjú
But the waiting makes me bored
Breakable kick back
And call out - Got to go - Help
I explode out and the peace goes up in the air
Baithed in a whole new light
I cry and I cry - disconnected
A ruined brain breastfed
And nurtured by sleepwalkers

That was Svefn-g-englar. There is also a word puzzle hidden in the name. Svefn means sleep. G I don´t know what stands for. Perhaps Góðir, which means Good. Englar means angels. But the word as a whole, means simply sleepwalkers. I can imagine that they would had meant Sleeping Good Angels?

I hope you enjoyed my rediciously direct translation. It doesn´t get more bare striped then this. I am sure that the guys would rewrite the lyrics if they would publish the material in english.

Klara.
