investigating international spanish salutations
really, I'm trying do start "research" on different salutations of different spanish speaking countries simple things such as answering the phone. I know in Mexico generally they answer "bueno" I want to find out about other countries help me out here!

oh that is a great idea! i am very curious about this. i get a lot if prank callers. i can just anewr in a differend language and add ich verstehe nicht Englisch or ich spreche kein Englisch...hehe im sure they won't be able to tell the difference ~.O

También dicen "Hola," tal vez mas en españa.
Y tembién he estudiado Mandarín, y sé que en China,dicen "wei?" No sé qué quiere decir--a lo mejor no quiere decir nada, solo es lo que dicen.

I'm sure they also say "Hola" in Spanish, although maybe that's just in Spain.
But I've also studied Mandarin, and in China, they say "wei?" I don't know what this means--it may not mean anything at all. But that's what they say.
