Teach me Obi Wan, you are my only hope.
I want to learn to speak Japanese and am interested in buying some conversational language on CD's. I would like some advice as to what TYPE of Japanese to begin with, for both writen and spoken language. I read a review online that said english-speaking students should avoid learning Japanese in the "wrong order". what does this mean? and is it possible to learn the language without breaking the bank?

Hi Hemiliy,I read your question. Japanese don't use"wrong order". In fact,I'm Japanese but I dunno such a thing. I guess that is metaphor or something...can you tell me its URL? Probably I can understand its meaning and tell you.I believe you can learn language without any crime.(I'm do it through the Internet) May the Force be with you.

Re:Teach me Obi Wan, you are my only hope.
I think "wrong order" in that review means "the order of words",
I(subject) drink(verb) water(object) in English but
Watashi wa mizu(object) wo(particle) nomu(verb) in Japanese.
The Japanese order of verb and object noun is different from English. and writing Japanese is difficult perticularly, so that some of Japanese learner use "Roma-ji", alphabetical expression, take your time and might be better if you do it soon after studying the speaking/listening practice to some extent.
Good luck
