Re:Esperanto???

Esperanto is a famous universal (actually Indo-European by its features) artificially constructed language meant for facilitating international communication. It has Romanic-Germanic vocabulary and Slavic phonetics. The name of the language comes from the pen-name "Doktoro Esperanto", "Doctor Hopeful" of Dr. Zamenhof, who created the language more than 100 years ago. According to one linguist there are 1000 people speaking Esperanto as a mother tongue even though the language is artificial. Millions of people understand it to some extent.
Those who like international languages might be interested to introduce themselves to Novial and Interlingua, too.
