Greetings:

I am a beginning Buddhist student looking to also learn Tibetan. I guess a good place to begin would be... How do you say "Hello."

Hy or Tashi delek,

there is a good book from "snow lion publications" in Englisch. You can buy a cd-course too, I got a lot of books about tibetan but i´m sure it is the best one. You can buy it per Internet at Wisdom-books.com
