Good morning is an expression designed to be used until 12 pm. Slang will vary from culture to culture. Americand will say (HI) or (what's up) and will not be appreciated by Caribbean people. Good morning is is the appropriate and safe way to greet someone in the morning in english.
Instead of "Goedemorgen", in English we say "MORNING. Good Morning."
