WORK EXPERIENCE (Translation)1995-Till date Free lance translation and interpretation for Russian-English-Russian. I have been specializing in technical translation and have executed partial/total technical translation and documentation for 6 TOT projects for Indian Government Organizations relating to varied field of science such as Mechanical, Chemical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer software, Banking etc. I have translated, edited and converted the translated technical documents to suit customers’ requirement. Most of the technical documents were operating manuals, test procedures, technical descriptions, specifications and standards, design documents, maintenance schedules, Research papers etc amongst others. In the process, I have independently participated in Government tender quoting and successfully negotiated and bagged major contracts. For executing these contracts, I have set up team of translators and executives for administrative and other related jobs for satisfactory supply of documents to the end user besides personally editing all the documents, translated by the translators.A major aspect of these assignments has been the constant interaction I have had with both Russian and Indian specialists during the execution of these projects in connection with the subject matter of the particular project. Hence, apart from the translation job for some of these projects, I had the opportunity of working with the specialists even during the production and trial stages.I have prepared customized course material for imparting Russian language training to Executives of Government departments to train their executives in Russian Language and prepare them for day-to-day interaction with their Russian counterpart. The course material was always prepared by carrying out extensive research on the technical aspects related to a particular project and thus covered all the technical terminologies pertaining to the project besides covering the basic grammar and the minimum required vocabulary. MARCH 1994-JULY 1995 Worked as marketing officer in STI Products India Limited, Bangalore. (Manufacturers of ERW Steel Tubes). Responsibilities included managing of dealer network, our other branches, Monthly sales reconciliation of our branch offices, Customer service, Planning of monthly production schedule and day-to-day dispatch schedule and preparation of export documents and planning of export shipment. Under the guidance of my marketing manager, we were able to increase the monthly sales from 500 tons to nearly 1000 tons during my one-year stint in the organization. FEB 1992-FEB 1994 Worked as marketing executive in TUMBI STEELS, Bangalore, for marketing office furniture to the corporate customers.
