I am an operations officer at Ft. Drum, NY. My unit is currently preparing to deploy to Afghanistan and we are in dire need of translators to bridge the language and cultural barriers between our unit and the locals in our area of operations. I am interested in learning Mandarin Chinese starting at the beginner level. I have traveled to Taiwan several times over the last few years on business and learned a small number of phrases. I am very interested in the Chinese culture and would like to be able to converse well. I would like to start with the basics but would also be interested learning how to write eventually. I work full-time in Norcross and live in Buford. I can devote 1-2 hours per week for lessons.

I believe I am intermediate. I watch alot of anime, and was previously teaching myself Japanese. So I know alot of words, I have good pronunciation skills. Also I was teaching myself the hiragana, and kanatana, but I need to use them more so I can remember them. I need to learn how to form sentences correctly, and more vocabulary as well. I want to learn Japanese fluently writing and speaking.
I want to learn this foreign language because I am in love with the culture in general. I hope to one day live in Japan for at least 2 years. Also it would be great to be able to speak two languages and be excellent to get into more Japanese Interior Design, since I am an Interior Designer.
I am willing to study three or two nights a week, also on saturdays mornings or evenings.
I am looking for a teacher who is very knowledgable of the culture and the language. Not a textbook prodigy but also can teach me the slang or ways japanese is spoken in the country. What I mean about that is sometimes the way an text book says is a correct phrase might not be the exact way it is spoken in the country. There may be shorter ways. For example: Ohayo Gozaimasu can also be spoken in short as just ohayo. In the end I just want a good teacher who can help me increase my of the knowledge language and be able to help me learn it with ease and efficiency.

I am a beginning student of Arabic (currently up to Chapter 10 in Al-Kitab, Book 1). My primary interest in the language is cultural and linguistic. I am serious about becoming as proficient as possible and need work in all areas! I would like lessons from two to six hours a week with a challenging teacher.
I am seeking a tutor for private lessons in my home in Northern Virginia. I prefer daytime hours but can also do late afternoon/eve ning and potentially weekends.

I am an absolute beginner. I have always wanted to learn French. I can speak German enough to get around, ask directions, etc., but I never had the opportunity to study French in school.
I am a very visual learner. I found this out when I was taking Spanish lessons years ago in Chicago. It was a strictly aural class, and I needed a visual reference. My German teachers in high school and college were very visual. I like to see the words.
I would like to dedicate 10 hours a week at least to learning the language.
The qualities I need in a teacher and lessons are mainly to cater to my need to see what I am saying.
