Hello. I am very interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese. When the time comes for me to start learning the language I will most definitely be a beginner in the course. I have bought various self-learning material for learning the language, however, my own self-discipli ne has rendered me 'almost' incapable of learning the language. I would always 'find' an excuse not to. I have difficulty just sitting down and using the material to learn. My own personal preference for learning anything is the traditional teacher/stude nt way of learning. I follow instructions well. Now that is not to say that when it comes time for doing homework assignments that I will not do it. No. I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that I learn better when I have that teacher entity there. Sorry, that's just the way I learn better.
I'm interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese because I am so interested in the culture, the people, and very soon I will be going there for vacation and I definitely want to be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the people. I just love Brazil and my dream is to get rich and possibly move there.
How much time I will be able to dedicate to me learning the language will depend on the time he/she and I are able to get together doing the week. Off the top of my head now, looking at my schedule I predict that I can devote between 2-3 hours a week. It will depend though considering the type of job that I have.
I really am interested in a teacher who is a native of Brazil who most definitely is fluent in English.

I am Christian Pastor and nearly one half of the members of my church are Laotian. I have picked up basic greetings and a few words of blessing but my accent is quite bad and I want to learn basic conversation. I have been to Laos on mission work. I have even met with government officials on possible work with hospitals and orphanages in Vientiane and Luang Prabang. If someone could help me get a better start with hearing the language and my accent I have plenty of people to continue in converstaion with in my work. I also plan to return to Thailand and Laos a few times in the next few years.
